Our new donkey

I couldn't resist posting these pics for you all! Tonight we adopted a donkey! I am sad now that Burke and I were not here to experience this with our kiddos. Burke was in a business meeting and I was out with the gals! (which I needed so badly and had an awesome time!) Thankfully Papa and MeeMaw were here to experience this new adventure.

By the way it sounds, Caislyn was really anxious to ride our new donkey, but it sounds like this is going to take some time. She needs to establish a friendship first! :) She spent a lot of time brushing his hair. Good start, Cai! Maylee liked the donkey and was not afraid of him. She even sat on him. We better watch her, because if you stand behind the donkey he may kick ya! Jakobi Dean was not interested in the donkey but loved to feed him food. I love the picture of him standing by the can of food, while holding the lid in his hand.

The donkey's name is up for debate, this is why I keep referring to him as "donkey". His previous owners named him Sylvestor. Caislyn wants to call him Tweety. Burke wants to call him Waffle. (his fave line from Shrek is the line where Donkey says, "and in the morning, I'm making waffles"). Maylee calls him "Donk". Jakobi calls him, "Don-Key", he emphasizes the "k". I honestly do not care, but would love to have a name figured out soon. Maybe we should be original and just call him Donkey.

Hey!! I'm just catching up with this no more blogging thing! That's one topic we didn't hit last night! Ha!

The donkey is adorable. I think they're perhaps the cutest animals ever. All the names are good, but I do like Waffle. The donkey in Shrek is so hilarious.

Take care--
Laura

WAFFLES is great!
That made me laugh.

I think that should be the winner!

Cute pictures. How fun that your kids get to experience the animals like that.
Mine don't even know what a live donkey looks like!

Great post! We talk about animals alot with Matthew lately and how they live in a barn. Some of our neighbors have miniature donkeys that are SO CUTE! We like to go and visit them on walks - Matthew goes right up to them and pets them.

Its a great experience for your kiddos to have these animals. Even if Jakobi isn't head over heels for them! ;)

Speaking of which-Congrats on the new pet! My vote is for Waffles...too cute! Keep sharing your faith and your story, your family is very inspirational.
