Mother's Day

Being a Mother is one of the best gifts that God has given to me. I know I am living my dream. This is what I wanted to be. I am now that. Being a mother isn't always easy, but it can be so rewarding. The house may never seem spiffy clean, and if you think about it, the mess keeps the family together. The mess means we are here being a family. If it was always clean that would mean that we are not here, but elsewhere. I choose HERE. A place to learn...a place to grow...a place to be together and build many, many memories!

Burke and I are so blessed with amazing Mothers! God has been so good to us. My mom is a loving Mom, a listening Mom and an Encouraging Mom! When I was a child she always took the time to rub my back, to listen to my silly little problems and encouraged me to keep going strong. The wonderful thing is that she still loves on me, listens to me and encourages me! I try to call her once a week. I usually end up calling her several times a week! I love to share with her what the kids are doing, to ask for a recipe, to help me figure out a soultion to a problem, to seek advice. I think we have a pretty special thing! Thanks Mom!

My mother-n-law is great too! She may not realize it but I have learned so much from her. I didn't realize how much of an influence she had on me until a friend of mine recently told me, "how neat to have a mom-n-law as a mentor". WOW, I never thought about it that way! She has reminded me (without telling me) how precious life truly is, how special the role of a "mom" can be and how that role affects the kids, and how open communication keeps family together. She has such a giving heart and that has rubbed off on me. I find myself wanting to give and give to others. Thanks Mom H!
