Double Date

This will be the first post for today. I will add a Mother's Day post later on this evening.

We spent the weekend in Indiana. We always stay busy when we visit my family. During this visit, we were able to meet up with a friend. This usually can be hard to do, especially since time is limited and we usually want to spend as much time as we can with family. But, this visit, we were determined to complete our New Years Resolution! We met up with one of my bestfriends, Kimmie (Her name is really Kim or Kimberley...but I've always called her Kimmie...I wiIl think that will always be her name to me!) Kimmie and I made a vow to see each other this year, preferably before summer rolled around! We are proud that we made the effort to get together.

My parents watched the kiddos on Saturday, so that Burke and I could drive to Indianapolis to meet up with Kimmie and Nate (her special man!!) This was our first time ever meeting Nate. And let me tell you, he's a great guy! I am so happy for you, Kimmie! Burke was crazy that evening. I was afraid he was going to scare Nate away! (Sorry Nate!) He was asking Nate all the nerve racking questions, questions a protective dad would ask. Before we knew it, Nate and Burke were both off their rockers. Both being silly. It was a good time. We started at Borders and ended up at PF Cheng's. My NEW favorite place! I am still craving the Chicken Lettuce Wraps!!!

It was nice to be able to get out without the kiddos. Burke and I both didn't know how to act during the ride to Indy. The car was super quiet. There was no one in the back seat yelling "more snacks" or someone crying because they want out of their car seat. Burke and I want to work on this...doing better at going on date nights. Thanks Kimmie and Nate for showing us what a date looks like again!

That is wonderful you were able to have a fun night with friends and your husband! My husband and I just accomplished this ourselves not too long ago, and it was wonderful! We've since made the commitment to have a date night on a regular basis. It's important to the relationship, and it's important for our kiddos to see the value we put on our marriage. We will be married 11 years in a couple weeks, and we're just now getting the hang of juggling everything. But from one wife/mom to another, those date nights are crucial!

Love the kids' pictures. Especially of Caislyn roller skating. Brought back a ton of memories from my childhood! I should really get my daughter Emma some skates. She's almost 7 and never been on them! That should be a crime! LOL.

Have a great week!

THOSE are some great pictures of you guys in Indiana. How fun. Getting away together is always a glorious thing. Chris and i just went on a date on Sat. and it was very much needed. We were really starting to feel the crunch and just needed alone time with EACH OTHER... no kids...JUST US!!!! AAAAHHHHHH
i am happy for you guys.
One day, we'll have to hook up and have our families meet. I would SOOOO love that!
Have a great Wednesday!
