Hummel Christmas

I've been meaning to post pictures from the Hummel Christmas. So here they are! I know they are a little late! We got together Christmas Evening at Grandpa and Grandma Hummel's House. We all had fun sharing laughs and swapping presents.

I Still Can't Believe It!

I still can't believe we have a cat living with us! I keep thinking back to Christmas morning when Santa rang the door bell and held up a kitten. I seriously felt like a little girl..my heart melted so fast! I was so shocked that Burke would even allow a cat into the Hummel house! BUT he knows me and knows me well. I grew up with cats...he grew up without pets...well he did have a pet fish named Barf and a pet racoon named Jamima... Anyways, you get my drift...no dogs and no cats. He and his dad would always tell me "A good cat is a dead cat" (Awe, how sad!) So this was quite the stretch for Burke. (But I do think he is having just as much fun as I am) The picture Below was taken on Christmas morning.

It's been fun watching Burke cuddle with Jack...whenever Jack lays on Burke's chest, he always yells "Jo, Look!"

And Caislyn is just another story...she chases Jack everywhere. The1st night that Jack was with us, she woke up 7 times saying "I want Kitty"!!! She loves to run around with string in her hand and laughs when Jack chases after her. It is kind of nice to have a little break...instead of always wanting Mommy to play with her...now she calls for Jack. I think they are going to be buddies.

Christmas Memories

Our family had such a fun Christmas morning. Burke and I were up 45 minutes before Caislyn was...just waiting for her to wake up!

I wish you could have seen the look on her face when she turned the corner into the living room. She just stood there...she didn't know what to do at first. I had to pull her to her new tent!

Once she got into the tent she basically woke up and went to town. As soon as she opened a present she would make a dart for another present. It was hilarious...she even helped Daddy and Mommy open their gifts!

She was so excited!!! BUT... she kept saying "Daddy"...and then later she said "Santa-Daddy". Hmmmm, I wonder why she would say such a thing!

After a crazy work schedule in the month of November and December...Daddy ALWAYS looks forward to coming home and unwinding with his daughter. Tonight has been a perfect example of his bonding time with Caislyn...an evening of playing hide-n-seek, playing piano, watching Elmo, singing, counting and eating snacks togther!

As for me, what an AMAZING sight to see!!!

Wuertley Family Christmas

We spent a few days in Marion, Indiana! We had fun spending time with my family. We thank our family for adjusting thier schedules so that we could have Christmas a week early this year!

Caislyn was a joy to watch as she opened up her gifts! She really got into it this year. Even though we receive lots and lots of gifts, we still take the time to remember why we celebrate this Beautiful Holiday. Our prayer for Caislyn is that, in the years to come, she too will learn to understand and appreciate Christ's Birth!

May everyone have a Beautiful Holiday this year. We love each and every ONE of you!

Future Choir Director

I had to post this picture of Caislyn pretending to be a Choir Director. This picture was taken at Beau's Church (Walnut Creek Mennonite) after their Choir Christmas program. Beau led the entire program (except for one song, Nicole directed that one!) and Caislyn mimicked him several times throughout the program! It was so funny. Afterwards she ran up to his music stand and started directing and singing. She would even stop to turn pages! I am so glad Grandpa Hummel had his camera ready!

How Sweet

I shared with Caislyn that our Christmas tree is for Jesus's Birthday. Now, she sings the "Happy Birthday" song to the tree! (And she really gets into it too!!) It is so sweet. I need to get this caught on video for you all to see and hear. Its amazing how much a two year can comprehend such a thing!!!

Christmas Tree

We made our annual drive to Rhodes to pick out our beloved Christmas Tree. We prefer tall and skinny...and we found one!! Caislyn enjoyed walking through the snow...this is really her 1st year to experience snow. It sure was cold though! I'm not sure about the other two, but I was so ready to get back into our nice warm car! Thank you Lord for HEAT!!! I'd much rather be indoors watching the beautiful snow than to be out in it freezing my bootie off!

Snow!

We woke up to snow this morning and Caislyn just thinks its the coolest thing. This is the first time she has really been able to see it on the ground. We missed the snow last week, we were just leaving town as it began snowing here. So, this is a BIG deal to Caislyn! She has been sitting in the bay window for almost 45 minutes now, she only gets down to go grab a toy! It's so funny!

BRING ON CHRISTMAS!!!!
